This weekend has been freaking amazing so I'm going to post about it because these are the days and the moments that we all want to immortalize.
Friday was pretty basic. Do homework. Eat goldfish. Live without a care in the world. Friday's are always the best.
Saturday was even better. My friend Megan and I went to see the Lion King at the Fox Theater in STL. I saw the show two years ago in London and it was absolutely mesmerizing. I cried during the Circle of Life at the beginning because it was so stunning. The initial awe wasn't with me this time because I knew what to expect, but the show was incredible nonetheless. The artistry is just unbelievable. Before the show my parents, Megan, and I went to a lovely Italian restaurant on the Hill where I had the richest chocolate ice cream I have ever tasted. Seriously you guys, it was insane.
Sunday although on paper it was not as impressive as my Saturday, it has still been quite the day. It started with me going to my first ever church service that I myself have elected to go to at the Unitarian Universalist Church in my neighborhood. I loved it. The people there were just like me. Warm, welcoming, and for a large number of them vegetarian (!!!). My friend that took me and initially turned me on to the Church, Kelsey, hung out with me later in the day also. She came over for the season premiere of Doctor Who (MIND=BLOWN.. IT WAS INCREDIBLE) and then we did some Goodwill shopping (where we found the adorable dalmatian costume pictured above) and grabbed some delicious Mexican food. We ended the day with chocolate shakes and swinging in the dusk. It was sublime. OH and Kelsey informed that she is going backpacking across Europe after senior year of HS and wants me to come with!! Holy crap that woman knows how to make my day! I'm absolutely ecstatic at the prospect.
I'm so blessed to have such wonderful people around me and a life which provides the flexibility for me to do the things I can with the people I choose. I want to thank each one of these people who have made my life so wonderful and implore them, each and every one of you, and myself to try and make someone else's day a little remarkable because if one thing's for sure I certainly got the taste for remarkability this weekend.
